To facilitate access to finance DAB signed a MoU with two MFIs
Kabul, 5 Aug 2017 – Da Afghanistan Bank signed a MoU with two microfinance institutions (Exchangerzone and Islamic Investment and Finance Cooperative) to use the Public Credit Registry system of Da Afghanistan Bank. H.E Qasim Rahimi, 2nd Deputy Governor of DAB while signing the contract said “PCR is one of the great initiatives of DAB and financial institutions can easily collect necessary credit information and credit history of borrowers by using PCR system”. He also mentioned that PCR system facilitates access to finance and increases accuracy and transparency on the lending sector. Afterward, CEOs of both MFIs (Exchangerzone and IIFC) appreciated PCR team’s hard work and dedication, and promised to establish a long-term relationship with them.
At the end Dr. Sadat, Director General of PCR department said “the main purpose of PCR system is to collect credit data, analyze, and disseminate it in a standard form of credit report to banks, financial institutions, and any other relevant entities. He also thanked both MFIs for their decision and emphasized on their continuing cooperation and support.
