Organization of Public Awareness Program on Credit Registry and Registry of Securing Charges on Movable Property in Eastern Zone
Based on the second phase of Public Awareness Program, Public Credit Registry department of Da Afghanistan Bank organized a full day workshop for Microfinance Institutions, Representatives of Commerce and Industries, and other related stakeholders on 12 September 2017 in Eastern Zone. The purpose of workshop was to improve the awareness of relevant entities regarding Public Credit Registry and Registry of Securing Charges on Moveable Property and how these systems can facilitate access to finance in eastern zone. Mr. Ahmadzai Tauhidyar, Director General of Eastern Zone of Da Afghanistan Bank, commenced the workshop with his opening remarks on both PCR and CR systems. Following, Mr. Abdul Nasser Sahak, Deputy Director of Public Credit Registry took a brief session for the introduction for PCR and CR systems. Later on Mr. Ajmal Shams, Director of Chamber of Commerce in Eastern Zone, highlighted the obstacles of access to finance for Small and Medium Enterprises. In addition, he appreciated the efforts of Da Afghanistan Bank for facilitating access to finance in the country. Afterward, Mr. Sahak explained the importance of both registries for participants and focused on PCR and CR achievements, current status, and challenges. Also, PCR technical staff presented online demo of both systems. At the end, Director General of Eastern Zone of Da Afghanistan Bank appreciated the organization of PCR and CR public awareness workshop for the purpose of educating relevant organs and recommended on continuation of such workshops in the future.
